To provide a meaningful experience promoting music-making, and developing a therapeutic relationship that will reach each of my clients in a dynamic way. In creatively supporting people, I assist them in exploring their strengths leading to positive change.
Brenda Johnson established Sound Connections Music Therapy after graduating from Acadia University with a Bachelor of Music Therapy (BMT). She later obtained a Masters of Counselling degree and is a Certified Canadian Counsellor with the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA) www.ccpa-accp.ca . Brenda lives in the Annapolis Valley with her family.
Brenda brings a comprehensive history of teaching music to people of all ages, which has contributed to her keen assessment skills of an individual’s unique qualities and learning styles. She presents a flexible and approachable personality complemented by creative problem solving skills, leadership capabilities, and provision of warm and constructive supervision.
Originally from Alberta, Brenda owned and operated a large music studio, offering lessons in piano and rudiments. She also taught music in a private school, which further facilitated her passion to work with children making music, while raising her own four children.
Brenda brings a commitment to Sound Connections Music Therapy: to provide quality music therapy services that empower people. This is accomplished through the application of her accumulated skills and experience to assisting others in discovering, creating, and exploring pathways toward building their own goals and overcoming their challenges.
